Add a voice over
Need a voice over for your video? You can record it directly into Rush with a Voice Over tool. You won't be able to see the interface, however, unless you click the "Control Tracks" button in the lower left corner of the Edit Workspace. Once you see the tool, click the microphone icon for the track you wish to record onto. It turns into a red button. Place the playhead where you you want to start recording. Click this red button to start and stop your voice recording.

Add pre-recorded music

You can add sound effects and music soundtracks to any Rush project. Import these files via the Project panel, then click the Add Media button. Once the media is added to your Project panel, click the Add button. The track drops in at the location of the playhead.

Audio panel

Refine audio clips in the Audio panel. You can repair sound, improve clarity, and add audio enhancements here. You can mute clips where you don't want the sound to be heard here, as well. I like to set the audio clip "type" to its appropriate role: Voice, Music, or Other. That way, when pre-recorded music is added, it fades the music in and out automatically with a feature called "Auto Duck." Be sure to enable it as it saves a lot of time adjusting voice over audio fades to music.

Remove audio
Of course you can remove audio. Simply select the clip in the timeline and click the Delete icon on the left, or press Delete on the keyboard.

Next you'll learn how to add effects and color grades to your footage. More on that here.
