Adobe Air Skin Customization ...

Hello all,

I am after some advice and am hoping, the fine people here can help me, I am struggling to find an answer!  Essentially, I am looking to customize the standard skins of the Adobe Air ouput generated by RoboHelp 8.  Similar threads didn't come up with any definitive answers, these can be found here and here.

Is it possible?

Thanks in advance for your help, it's most appreciated.

Regards,
Alex.

I, too, am looking to customize the Air skins.   I was hoping Adobe would have some to download?  If you read the information on the Flash product, they say you can choose from several pre-defined skins?

I don't have a developer resource to count on.

    Thanks

Contrary to my earlier posts in this thread, it is not possible to edit the skins. I subsequently learned that a Flash developer would have the skills required but there are reasons why the files they would need cannot be made available.

AIR help has a number of templates and each has a number of skins that can be applied so pre-defined skins are available. What is not available is the ability customise them. It is still relatively early days in the development of AIR help so hopefully things will improve.

Anything to do with AIR Help is best asked in the AIR Help forum to which I have moved this thread.

I think the other threads make it clear you need a developer to do anything more than choose from the options available in the interface.

    Hi Peter,

Thanks for moving the thread and for your reply.

I fully expected developer involvement (I have one lined up) but I couldn't find any clear guidance on how a developer goes about this?!?  The developers in question have experience with Adobe Air applications in general but not with those applications created in RoboHelp 8.  Could the RoboHelp 8 output be imported into Flex for example?

    Thanks again for your help,

    Regards,
    Alex.

You would need their help with editing the skin, not the help output. I believe it is Flash skills required for this.

I'm not aware of anyone having edited a skin for AIR or WebHelp but that could just be that it has not been reported here.
