Auto Sync doesn't always work

Community Beginner ,
Jul 28, 2008 Jul 28, 2008
I've been using the auto synch feature for a long time, but recently I noticed that sometimes it works and sometimes not, all in the same project. I've checked to make sure the auto sync button has been checked, and it has, but it STILL doesn't highlight the topic in the TOC. Does anyone know why this happens, or better yet, how to fix it?
Thanks.

Hi Donna

It's probably tied to your Speed Optimization settings. Double-click your WebHelp layout and work your way through the intermediate dialogs. You should find a section that says "Optimize Speed For" and it's probably set for Internet. Change this to "Local PC" and generate. After that, your synchronization should work properly in all cases.

Cheers... Rick

I'm having a problem with a chm file created in RoboHelp HTML (v5). I tried changing the Optimize Speed to Local PC, but that didn't work. Any suggestions?

Welcome to our community, Marilyn

The setting mentioned is for WebHelp output only and would have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with .CHM output.

Can you be a bit specific about what is happening with your .CHM file?

Thanks... Rick
