Best practices for migrating merged WebHelp from RH7 to RH8?

We're using RH7 and we'll be migrating to RH8 in November. I'm startingto get the impression I should budget the time to build up each project anew in RH8 rather than just opening copies in the new UI and hoping it all works. Has anyone blazed this trail? Willing to chat about it?

Thanks

I have upgraded some large merged webhelp projects rather than rebuilding them anew. The thought of rebuilding didn't even cross my mind. Why do you think that is necessary?

Create backups in case anything does go wrong but upgrade and see what happens. It should be fine.

I've used the RSC Convert Wizard to make a copy of my database. Since a lot of our processes are based on the database name I'd like to use the orignal rather than the copy. I suppose I could stop source control and copy the database files to a safe location as well.

Did RoboSource Control 3.1 change in a meaningful way between RH7 and RH8?

I've spent the morning looking for a "How to migrate from RH7 to RH8" but not found one. Do I just install RH8 and open a database and hope for the best?
