Blank screen while trying to open a topic

RH version: 2020.8.34

 

Greetings!

When I try to open a topic, the RH screen shows a blank screen. This is happening quite frequently and to the temporay fix to this is by closing the project and restarting RH.

 

Does anyone know the solution for this?

My apologies, I forgot to add that I recorrected my statement in the first post. My intention was not to repeat at all. 

 

Also, my reply to your last post:

The project is on local drive, I've tried minimising the screen and the blank screen persists. I've tried leaving it on for 5-10 minutes max, but it hasn't worked. To save time I close the project and restart RH. 

 

Additionally, the Adobe support told me to rename the 2020 folder located in "C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\RoboHelp\2020" and it hasn't helped either.

Is the project on a local drive?

 

Have you tried minimising the screen rather than closing the project?

 

How long are you leaving it after opening? Shouldn't be long but give it a try.

i had to smile as someone just pointed out to me perhaps you were correcting something which you can't do as a new user.

 

I am surprised that Support told you to rename that folder. I am not saying they are wrong, simply that it seems unusual.

 

  1. Did they get you to do a reinstall?
  2. Do you have admin rights on your machine? If not you must get an admin to install for you. Best to have admin rights yourself.
  3. Have you tried the About RoboHelp sample project? RoboHelp creates two copies of the samples on installation. 
    - The copy to use is put in My RoboHelp Projects in the Documents folder that Windows creates in your profile.
    - Another copy goes into Program Files and should never be run from there as Windows will block some of the functionality.  The idea of the copy in Program Files is that it is a clean back up if you need to replace the copy in Documents.

 

Let me know the answers to the above first. There are other things to try.
