Hi all,
I think this is a bug..?
When I change the top level entry ("home" by default) to something different in the SSL, then this is ignored in the HTML Help output. The top level is still named "Home", despite my change. If I apply breadcrumbs via the master page and change it there, then all is fine - but in this project we cannot use master pages.
Also I found that custom colors do not display in the format options for breadcrumbs in the SSL. I can only select the text color from a fixed list of standard colors, my custom colors are not available.

I agree, it does look like a bug so please report it. Please follow this link.

The lack of custom colours needs to be submitted as a feature request. Same link.
Sorry, you seem to be plain out of luck today.

Hi Robert
Not understanding why Master Pages cannot be used. Is this an edict or are they being used for something else?
I ask because it is so easy to insert the placeholder and simply assign the Master Pages to all topics.

Hi,
this project is a collection of different linked Framemaker sources that
use different styles (hence multiple css files) . Therefore using a
single master page would not be so easy, we would have to creat
individual master pages for each imported source (with the corresponding
css attached to them) and also the actual user of this project which is
not me said she wanted to keep it simple without using master pages if
possible. Breadcrumbs are not a requirement here only a nice option, so
we will probably choose to drop them in this case.
But thanks for the idea, in other projects I will probably insert
breadcrumbs over the master page.

Hi Robert
Hmmm, I just tested by creating a Master Page with no CSS assigned. I then associated it with all my topics and the CSS was left alone.
Your call on whether you wish to pursue or not. But it's pretty straightforward to associate a single Master Page with all your topics. You just select them all in the Topic List pod, right-click and look at properties, then from the General tab you choose the desired Master Page.

Thanks for the hint! I remember trying this once (i.e., appllying a
master page without css) and instead of leaving the topic's css alone,
it removed them all. I think I used the "apply to all" seting in the SSL
- using the topic properties may make a difference. If this works out,
it would be just fine!

Robert
