Can't delete a TOC from a project

Explorer ,
Jun 28, 2011 Jun 28, 2011

TCS3 in XP

RH9

When I right-click a TOC in the Project Manager, the Delete option is not available for some TOCs, but is enabled for others.  How do I delete a TOC.

Thanks in advance.

Have you made sure that the TOC is not referenced anywhere (e.g. SSL properties).

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "is it referenced." I have deleted all topics from the TOC. The TOC still displays in the FlashHelp TOC drop-down list, but I can't see where it displays anywhere else.

If you open all your layouts, is one of the TOCs you cannot delete selected. There's a difference between being in the list and being selected when you open the layout.

If that is not the problem, make a copy of the project, delete the PSS and CPD files and then see what happens.

Peter,

Thanks for the reply. I'm so close to my deadline, that I just can't jeopardize my project by copying it and possibly losing something in the process. The extra TOC doesn't really hurt anything and is not included in the combined TOC, so it's not a big deal. I was just being neat and tidy.

Where's the risk? You are creating a copy using Windows Explorer. You can carry on working with the original.

Whenever you try this, you will need to make a copy as trying what I suggested after the delivery date would still not be a good idea without the backup.
