I have 586 HTML input files to my webhelp. I appear to
successfully generate webhelp with TOC, Index, Search and Glossary
tabs in the navigation pane. However, I still have some broken
links (I could also use some advice on getting rid of broken links
involving index items).
When I attempt to generate Printed Documentation, I get an
error that prevents it from being produced. I gave up on Word
output. I tried PDF output and requested that images be imbedded
and only one file be created.
The result was a log entry with warnings that 4 graphics
files could not be copied to the !doc_tmp_folder\Graphics, reason:
unexpected error. At the end, the message was "Internal error
encountered, Failed to generate Printed Documentation."
So far all of my htm files have the status In Progress. As
far as I am concerned, they are complete because QA will check them
only after they are checked into the software base, a step that
comes after production in RH 7.
I would like to know the solution so I can create Printed
Documentation. I am especially interested in creating a set of Word
files, one per chapter (Heading 1). I suppose if I solve the hurdle
of creating a single PDF, I am part of the way there.
In the meantime, my manager wants me to continue adding
material to this webhelp. I am afraid of adding to the RH 7 inputs
when I haven't solved a basic problem.
