Contents Tab

Can anyone tell me where to find the Contents Tab?

I found a workaround for a problem I am having with my external CNT files, but it says I have to select the Contents Tab from the Project Settings dialog?

There is no such tab in that dialog.

Can you point us at the link where you saw this info as it doesn't make sense. It sounds to me like it may be relevant to a different output type. With WinHelp you do not have the option to select the Contents file to my knowledge. Perhaps you can also post your original problem. Maybe someone can help with that also.

Hi Column,

I got this information from the RoboHelp for Word help file. See below. We found a manual way to work around this issue by inserting the name of the help file in the *.cnt file. Wish there was an automatic way to do this.

My original post read: "I am still running RH 8 for Word (2007). I published the entire project. When testing the main table of contents, the books and topics appear as expected, but when I try to go to any of the topics I get the message:

The topic does not exist. Contact your application vendor....

From the individual projects I can see the topics. When I publish them and view the contents all seem to work fine, but it does not when viewing the entire project from the main table of contents."

Thanks

As I suspected the help file is wrong

The "Include File Name With Pages" option is in fact in the Single Source Layout (se below). Just use the master CNT button to select the appropriate file.

Thank you Colum, but we tried that and it did not work. The only

thing that worked for us was to manually add the help file name to the *.cnt file as in the statements below:

:Base MISIAR.hlp
:Title Accounts Receivable
1 ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE
2 Accounts Receivable=Accounts_Receivable@MISIAR.hlp

This will have to be done every time we make changes and publish the help file. Maybe there is a bug? My version is Adobe RoboHelp for Word 8.0 Build 8.0.0203

Thanks for your help

Whether it is a bug or not may depend on your perspective. Personally I think it is as the functionality exists for merged winhelp files in RoboHelp. However I really doubt whether anything will be fixed. WinHelp is such old technology that your chances of getting a fix are VERY slim.
