css styles applied to some topics but not to others

Explorer ,
Sep 28, 2010 Sep 28, 2010

I'm using TCS1 in Windows XP.

I just generated a help project using a customized fmstyles.css.  Some of my topics apply the css styles beautifully, but other topics do not have them applied.  I have checked the HTML and all topics are using the same fmstyles.css.

Help, anyone?

Is there anybody out there who can answer this question.  It is causing a lot of manual work?

Hi there

What I know about Framemaker is... how to say Framemaker. LOL

But if you aren't seeing the styles you expect, it sounds like Framemaker is inserting some inline or possibly embedded formatting that is overriding the externally referenced CSS rules. What you need to sort is if there is anything you can do on the Frame side that will help.

I think I might look at an area where you aren't seeing the styles apply as expected. Look at that area on the Frame side and see if there is anything Frame is applying that is causing the issue. My guess is that there will be. It's just a matter of your finding the feature causing it.

Not sure if this helps anything. But perhaps it may help you think of something to check that will lead to the resolution.

Cheers... Rick

Can you elaborate?

All FM files will be assigned styles uniformly per the RoboHelp conversion settings.

The ultimate name of the stylesheet will differ and is based upon the name of the FM file containing the content.

DO NOT EDIT THE GENERATED CSS...IT IS A WASTE OF TIME.

Instead, change your conversion settings and Update All

I think I may have answered this myself.  I did not have all of the RH patches applied to my software and that may have resolved my problem.  Also, you must close all topic files in order to have all styles applied.  Although, when you close the files, you should be prompted to save the changes.
