Customizing Search Tab

Is there a way to customize the search tab? I'd like the Index tab to be a search based on keywords applied to topic pages and the Search tab to be a search based on full phrases used in topics.

As it stands now, if I type 'this and that' into the search field I get any topic page that has any of the three words. That's not what I want. I want only those pages that include all three words in that specific order.

Is there any way to specify this in RoboHelp?

Thanks,
Maggie

Welcome to our community, Maggie

Mind you I'm the last person that would advocate using Search, but it does have its advantages in some cases.

Have you tried surrounding the words in quotes? Not sure if RoboHelp will like or accept it, but it strikes me that it may.

Cheers... Rick

I've tried single and double quotes. Neither work.

this+that gives me any topic page with 'this' and any topic page with 'that'.
Are we talking about WebHelp or HTML help (CHM)?

WebHelp does not have phrase searching up to and including RH7. RH8 does have it. You can use ZoomSearch with WebHelp to get phrase searching. It is described on my site.
