Do Information Types actually work in RH8?

I was able to create a category and types, but when I tried to apply them to topics the instructions in the Adobe help seemed 100% inaccurate. Does this feature actually work?

Rick Stone knows more about this but I believe he is teaching right now.

Short answer is NO

So do I need to upgrade to get this feature? I saw that they actually worked in 10.

No. Never did work and I doubt ever will.


Looking at this again, I wonder if Content Categories introduced in Rh9 would help.

What's the objective here?
