Hi,
The values entered under 'Drop Down Hot Spot Text Editor' and 'Expanding Hot Spot Text Editor' is shown in the htm file by default expanded.
This problem is coming in Robohelp 10. I am able to open the same content in Robohelp8 version from another machine, the texts are shown with hyperlink and it expand only upon clicking.
I am using IE9.Could this be aproblem? Or any other suggestion in styling and formatting??

Did you add some script in ehlpdhtm.js to get this behaviour? Normally,
this behaviour only occurs when you make a change to this file in order
to get the output to work like this.
Kind regards,
Willam

Was a solution ever found for this? I just took over content for my company and just recently all "drop spots" are displayed open when you open any topic. What controls this?

Chris, to confirm, if you create a brand new project with just one topic and add drop-downs, does it happen there?
If not, there is something to investigate with the topic(s) exhibiting the behavior. If it still happens in a new project, I'd be suspecting a browser issue.
What version of RoboHelp are you using?

Running RoboHelp 10. This started about the time I was given the project, which I am learning as I go no training
. New topics are expanded at open also. The project is setup in Air, but opening in IE and Firefox exhibits same thing.

A new topic is much different than a new project, but I digress. ![]()
I would first ensure you are up to date with any patches. Odds are, you need to apply one or more patches.

we are using robohelp v 10 fully patched and updated. we push it out to a air file and adobe air is the viewer for the project.

Again, try it with a totally new Project (not just a new topic).
The thing is, there could be some code that someone, somewhere along the way added in that produces this behavior. If that has happened, a new topic would likely behave same as others.
I think you did say it does the same thing in Firefox and IE, no? So that would seem to imply that someone has monkeyed with the code. The default behavior is to have these hidden until a link is clicked to open and reveal them.

new project works fine so were would i need to start looking in the old project to find the issue

I think a good start would be to click the Project menu and choose "Update DHTML..."
Then generate the output again and see if that fixes the issue.

Hmmm, running out of options here!
New project doesn't have the issue. If it were me, I think the next move would be to open the new project and import one of the suspect topics. If it behaves, I might be looking at perhaps replacing the ehlpdhtm.js file in the old project the one from the new.
