Hotspot Not working

New Here ,
Oct 24, 2008 Oct 24, 2008
I'm using RoboHelp 7 for Word on Windows XP. When I'm creating a hotspot from a shedded image to the topic that I want to jump. it does not save correctly and shows as "Jump: J" or "Jump:A" instead of "Jump: TopicID ('etc..). : I'll see btoken link with "J", "A"..is there a bug in Robohelp 7 word?

I've no knowledge of RH7, but this did/does happen sometimes in RHX5. Usually for one hotspot, rarely for the whole .shd. Sorry - it's easiest to go with the flow - cancel the hotspot and redefine it.

I am experiencing the same issue with RoboHelp 7 for Word on Vista. I have not been able to solve the problem by deleting the hotspot and redefining it. Any image that I open with image editor gets corrupted.

This causes compilation errors and broken links.

Any further suggestions? Anyone? This sounds like a bug to me.

James,

I had luck eliminating the hotspot problem by installing the latest TCS update 7.0.2. It also took care of problems I was having with the Error Wizard. Good luck.

Update 7.0.2? I see 7.0.1 is available as an update to RH for Word.

It failed to install on my Vista system.

Anyone have any news on this?

The updates are for both RH HTML and RoboHelp for Word.

Look in both Add Remove Programs and Help About. What versions do you see? Check both.

Thank you Peter and Mary (Paul too wherever you are 🙂 )

I now have 7.0.2. It's good to see the error wizard working in RH for Word. That's a big help.

Strange the update link in RH found only 7.0.1 and that would not install.

I am having another problem and I'll post it separately.

LATEST

I was experiencing this problem with the hotspots breaking, even with 7.0.3.001 installed. We finally figured out that when I paste the new graphic in and click "Save" the hotspots do not break. However, when I click "Save As" instead, the hotspots break. So until a fix arrives, the workaround I will use is to use Save not Save As.
