How to fix RoboHelp & Perforce integration problem?

Hi,

I'm using RoboHelp 9 as part of the Tech Comms Suite 3.5, Perforce v2010.2 with SCC plugin. Previously I was using Windows XP, but I now have a new laptop on Windows 7, which is why I'm trying to integrate my existing RoboHelp project with Perforce.

I've followed the instructions described in http://blogs.adobe.com/techcomm/2011/07/version-controlling-robohelp-projects-with-perforce.html.

I can open my project fine on my old XP laptop by clicking 'Open Project from Version Control' button.

On my new Windows 7 laptop I do the following from the Starter page:

Click 'Open Project from Version Control' button, select Perforce SCM, ensure the connection is correct, choose the project file, click Open.

RoboHelp does the following:

Flashes 'Getting Latest Version of File(s) in the bottom right-hand corner, when it gets to 'Building File List...' it crashes with the message 'Adobe RoboHelp 9 has stopped working' and my only option is to click 'Close program'.

I cannot work out if the problem is with RoboHelp or Perforce.

However, I can open the project directly within Perforce. It offers me the 'Get Latest Version' dialog listing my project files. When I make changes to the topics I get the appropriate marks in my project files list. When I close the project I get the 'Check In' dialog where I can submit a comment for my changes and it checks in the files I updated.

Can anyone offer an explanation/suggestion why this doesn't work by clicking on the 'Open Project from Version Control' button?

Thanks for your help.

Might find some more assistance in this forum - http://forums.adobe.com/community/robohelp/robosource_control - don’t let the name fool you – it’s ALL source control methods being discussed in there, not just RS SC.

Thank you Jeff,

I didn't find this forum previously. I guess it might be worth asking my question on there instead.

I've had a look at the forum and there seems to be some related posts, but the posts that seem very similar don't all have answers. I can't be the only one who's had this issue, can I?! I'll keep looking and searching.

Thanks again Jeff.
