I have a Rogohelp project and have generated HTML help in a tri-pane window with a browse sequence. When I view the help from withn Robohelp

(in the Single Source Layout pod right click on Microsoft HTML help and select View) it looks fine and the browse sequence is there:

But when I open it by double clickong the chm file the browse sequence is gone:

Any ideas?

I am using Windoes 7, 64bit

Welcome to our community

Please do read the link below. We have no idea what version of RoboHelp you are using.

My own guess as to what is happening is that you are using a Windows 7 64 bit machine. When you launch the CHM from RoboHelp, RoboHelp launches the 32 bit help viewer. And when you double-click to launch, you are using the 64 bit version of the help viewer.

The browse sequences depend on the HHActiveX.dll file. You have to register that file with Windows. Only RoboHelp 9 will offer both a 32 bit and a 64 bit version of this file,

I am using RoboHelp 9 and have the 64 bit version of the dll; I had checked before posting. Also as I pointed out the browse sequence looks fine when I view the help from within RoboHelp

Hello again

My point was to say that when you view from RoboHelp, it launches the CHM file using the 32 bit version of the help viewer and not the 64 bit version.

I'm suggesting that you may need to take an extra step and go through the process of specifically registering the 64 bit version of the HHActiveX.dll. So try that, then launch the CHM again. You may find that it works now. And if not, well, there could well be a bug somewhere that Adobe needs to squash.

Cheers... Rick
