Question

images & formulars are blurred in RH

Hello to all!

I'm actually trying the single-source-workflow FM -> RH and there are some problems I can't solve.

1. Images

If the Framemaker file contains screenshots to be transferred to RoboHelp (bitmaps, resolution 96dpi, inserted in Framemaker with 150dpi), the images are transferred yet unfortunately scaled down during the import (the original image, no resize in RoboHelp), and are thus of poor quality. If, in Framemaker, the screenshots are inserted with 96dpi, they are not scaled down during the import, but in Framemaker they are too large. Does anyone understand the logic behind this? Is there a different approach in which the original size of the images is not changed?

2. Formulas

Similar to the images problem, formulas created with the Framemaker fomula editor are blurred in RoboHelp. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

We are grateful for any advice.

Thanks Tirena.

I am having a similar problem with text in an anchored frame and the associated image. The text is unreadable and the images are virtually unreadable after conversion. Any help is greatly appreciated.

RoboHelp uses FrameMaker to export some of the image formats. Are you seeing (1) with all images in FrameMaker or is it specific to some image formats?

Hi JainVivek

all images are scaled down in RH, no matter which graphic format they have. I´ve tried it with bmp, jpg, gif and png. I think there is a connection between the scaling in FM and the scaling in RH. When I insert a screenshot in FM with 96 dpi (original size) the image isn't scaled down in RH.

We have real big problem with the formulars. A part of our documentation contains many formulas to give users a scientific background. After importing the files in RH the formulas are illegible.

What can I do?
