Import from Word into RH8

Hi all,

We regularly import Word files into RoboHelp for HTML (our output format is usually CHM).

Up to RH7 you had the option toSplit on Style, which creates a separate topic for each Heading 1 paragraph.

Since RH8 this seems to have disappeared. Does anybody know how to re-enable it?

Hi there

The option is still there. Just a bit obfuscated.

Note that you now have new capabilities with Word. Not only may you import, but you may also link. When linked, if the Word document changes you see a notification from RoboHelp.

When importing, you see the first dialog. Click Next >.

Now you see the second dialog. Click the Edit... button to open the Conversion Settings.

You see a brief Scanning dialog as the document is inspected.

Once that completes you see the Conversion Settings dialog.

Expand the Paragraph styles and ensure Pagination is enabled for the style you wish to split on.
