Index page numbers in printed doc incorrect

New Here ,
Jun 27, 2007 Jun 27, 2007
When you generate print documentation, all index entries associates with a topic are put up in the topic title so that all index entries for a topic reflect the topic title page number. If a topic runs more than a single page, index entries are off. Example: I have a list of fields that I use dropdown text for in help, but when I generate to print documentation the topic runs 2, sometimes 3 pages. If a term lands on page 3 of the printed documentation , the index still indicates that it's on page 1. Is there a workaround for this -- say using bookmarks or something? Any suggestions appreciated. Thank you.

The way it works is that the page number refers to the start of the topic. Remember an index word does not have to be in the topic.

See recent posts. There is a way around this involving some extra steps.

If stuck post back and I will find the information I was sent but it may be a little while.

Thanks Brian. Got stuck at Heathrow last night, three hours to get out of a car park! They couldn't organise a ****** in a brewery! Now trying to catch up.

No problem Peter. Got to keep my hand in.
The contract I’m working on doesn’t use RoboHelp. (yet) Working on that. Global Operating procedures that haven’t been updated for 4 years. Bit of a yawn, but keeps the pennies rolling in.

Chomping at the bit to get home and download V7.
