my flash player won't work on my windows 8 laptop

I have already gone to http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-issues-windows-8.html and done what it says. it still will not work.

And you are trying to use the RoboHelp FlashHelp output?

If you have no clue what I'm talkin about, it's because you posted your question in a forum dedicated to discussion of an output type produced by an Adobe software product named "RoboHelp". So you likely posted in the wrong place believing that because the forum is named "FlashHelp", it's for help with generic Flash and Flash Player issues.
