Question

Printed Documentation displays each topic twice

Click Printed Documentation.

Click Next to access the TOC setup

On the right panel, each topic is listed twice. In the final document, RH is adding a heading to a topic and then duplicating the same topic without the RH heading.

If there is a way to prevent RH from inserting these headings, I think this duplication would be resolved.

These two images show the same topic. The first has the RH Heading (in black), while the second does not. These topics appear consequtively in the Word doc.

This graphic shows two instances of each topic occuring in each book. I could clear them out of the TOC, but it's very large (see vertical scrollbar size)

You can get a topic in the document twice where a book has a linked topic and the TOC then has the topic listed. However that does not show the topic twice in the layout, you get the book followed by the topic. It's only in the document you get the topic twice, not all topics. The answer is that if you have a topic linked to a book you must delete the topic below it in the layout.

If that is not what you mean. perhaps a screenshot would help. Use the camera icon you will see in the reply pod.

Thomas

I don't know what is wrong with this thread but your second post got emailed but is not showing in FF! I don't know if others are seeing that. In IE I am only seeing your first post and not even my reply.

I would create a new Print Layout, not a duplicate. Leave the old one there for now. If that then shows all the topics twice, there is something wrong with the TOC. First try the new layout.

So when I reply, the missing post appears. Today has been a bad PC day at work. Looks like I brought it home.
