Problem with importing the printed documentation - Heading 1 does not appear

Hello!

I generated Printed documentation from Robohelp and I had to import that word document again in a different project. None of the Heading 1 topics appear in the TOC and the first book is the first Heading 2 topic of the document. All the rest of the topics are inside of that one, even though they are also Heading 2. Also, none of the topics which were repeated (I don't know if I can disable this option before generating Printed documentation) in the Printed documentation have any text inside, even though they are supposed to. Should I delete the empty ones in the Printed documentation word document?

Did you have similar problems and maybe solved it?

Thanks,

Jelena

Welcome to our community, Jelena

Curiosity question here. Do you no longer have access to the first project? If so, why not make a copy of the source files and use those?

Going the route of creating a Printed Document and re-importing seems to be inviting trouble.

Cheers... Rick

I do, but the changes need to be done in word document because it would be so slow to do it in Robohelp and because of the formatting difficulties. So, I was thinking of exporting it as a word document, making the changes (like inserting new text) and importing it again into robohelp. and I don't have the original word document because the changes were done in Robohelp

I am using Robohelp 8 HTML without any patches. It is on C drive because I've already noticed huge problems when it was on some of the mapped network drives. The thing is that the manuals I am supposed to update are going to be updated by some other people who don't even know how to use Robohelp, so it was easier to use Word and just import the changes at the end.

The formatting problems I've encountered up to know were listbullets or listnumbers. but still, I would just prefer solving the export/import issue coz it would help me immensely.

thanks anyway

I would strongly recommend you apply the patches before you go any further or you will have even more problems. See Opening Projects on my site. You run a real risk of project corruption without patch 2.

There is also an article Using RoboHelp 8 that explains the likely cause of your list problems. Item 25.

If you import from Word, the HTML that Word creates will give you other problems.
