Problems with search-function

Hi!

I got links from projectA to projectB. When I open the projectA.chm the search doesn´t show results (topics) of projectB. (Same with keywords in the index). Can I change this?

Hi Janine

I noticed you said "links from projectA to projectB". Does this imply you haven't merged the two projects? Note that simply creating a link from one project to another does not cause a merge to occur. It quite simply allows you to temporarily display the topic from the other project.

If you merge, you insert a reference into your TOC and a behiind the scenes file that sets things up so that Index entries and Search are now blended as you are seeking.

Cheers... Rick

Ah ok, thank you. But is it then still possible that when I change something in projectB, it also changes in projectA?

If projectB is merged inside projectA, any change that is made to project B is included when you generate the output from project A. Exactly how this works depends on your output. If you are producing CHMs, you do not have to recompile ProjectA to pick up any changes made to ProjectB.
