Publish version?

How can we achieve publish version whenver a project is published?

To elaborate: While reading the content, the end-users should know the publication information, such as, if the current version is 4th publication, the next publication should be 5th publication. 

How can the Author control the publication version information?

    We handle this by use of a variable added to the topic. You'd just need to update the variable value prior to each publish.
