"," added to HTML in RH9

New Here ,
Apr 08, 2013 Apr 08, 2013

I did some search and replacements using HomeSite 4.5 (old, I know) in htm files that are part of an RH9 project. When I open the project, each topic now has the characters "," added at the beginning of the topic.  Sure enough, the HTML view shows ","  But the characters do not show up in the htm file when displayed in Notepad.  I can remove the characters in RH, and they seem to stay deleted.  But this will involve manually touching 100s of files.  Does anyone know what's going on or how to fix it?

The fix is to stop using HomeSite! Before doing anything with a third party tool, you should always backup the Rh project for precisely reasons such as this.

I have seen instances of Rh showing different content to Notepad but usually it is the other way around, Notepad reveals something that Rh does not show.

You could try a multifile find and replace tool such as FAR.
