Renaming Topics

Hello,

In RH 7, is there an automated way to rename topics in the TOC and Index? For example the title of the Topic is: Topic A. In the Topic properites dialog box, I rename the title to TopicA1. Since I use the Insert > Fields and Variables > Title, the topic title in the Design view automatically changes.

Presently, I have to rename the topic title in the TOC and Index, how can I automated this renaming process?

Thanks,

Depending on your level of risk tolerance, you text-edit the source project files **.hhk and **.hhc, with the project closed, of course.

First you have to change the title for each topic in RH topic properties dialogs, and close the project. You have already done this.

In .hhk, you will change the title once for each topic; in .hhc, you can run find/replace for each topic title.

Not quite automated, but maybe faster.

    Make backups.

    Hi CRO1

Unfortunately I can't think of a way that could happen. At first blush, I thought perhaps you might finagle the variable used for the Topic Title to somehow factor into the mix.

I'm thinking you should consider submitting this as a feature request for version 8 or beyond. You may do so by clicking here.

    Cheers... Rick
