RH X5 Unable to Load Virtual Transaction Module

New Here ,

Hi everybody,

I've been reading--after the fact-- in various places that it may not be the best idea to have two copies of RH on the same machine.
I also have Word 2003 and 2007 on the same machine.

I have a project that was created in RH X5, which used to open correctly in RH5 before I installed the trial version of Adobe Tech Comm Suite (which has RH7) and MS Office 2007. I later activated the tech comm suite with the product key I bought.

I have since uninstalled RHX5 and reinstalled RHX5 and but still experience these problems:
The project opens.
The first error appears, which is: "Unable to Load Virtual Transaction Module"
The second error is the infamous Run-Time 49 Bad DLL Calling Convention
The third is: RoboHelp Explorer is Unable to Start Microsoft Word.

I moved all the MS Word templates to a different directory, and RH recreated them, and I still experienced the same problems.

All enlightenment is much appreciated

Peter

Quite simply, whilst you can run dual versions of RH HTML, you cannot run dual versions of RoboHelp for Word. You have got to choose one or the other.

You can have both versions of Word on the PC with RH7 if you have some other reason beyond compatibilty with X5. There is information on my site about that.

If TCS was purchased as an upgrade, then you can no longer use X5.
