RoboHelp 8 reinstall on new machine makes opening old project impossible.

I have been using RoboHelp 8 for about 3 years. I received a new work machine, so I had to reinstall RH8. Installation went fine, but now when I try to open existing RH projects, I get a message telling me that "this project is from a newer version of the program." I know this is not the case. Any thoughts or solutions are appreciated. Thanks!
