Hello experts,

I am wondering if there is an upgrade option available for RoboHELP Office 9?

Or do I have to purchase a full product? I am downloading the trial version of RoboHelp 8 to try.

Thanks and regards,

Kenny

With RH8 HTML you can link to a Word document. That allows you to continue working on the Word document using just Word. When you want a new version of the help, the generation process will prompt you to update.

I haven't personally worked with the method but it seems to me to be a better process.

Is it necessary to maintain the source in Word? Could you not have your topics maintained entirely in RH HTML?

Upgrade pricing is only available for X5 and upwards. It will however upgrade your existing projects but do make backups before you upgrade, just in case.

Unless you are definitely upgrading, I would suggest that the trial is installed on a different PC.

Another thing to think about is that support on these forums for RoboHelp for Word is not what it used to be in terms of the volume of people who support it. Many authors have move to RH HTML which has many more features. You might want to think about making that change too.

Isnt it easier to use RoboHelp Word to convert Word documents to generate help files in order to reduce the maintenance of two seperate documents?

Well, currently the source is in Word. It will up to my higher ups to decide if the source should remain in the Word format.

Anyways, thanks. I've got all the information I need.
