Script error when viewing CHM file

I recieved this error message when attempting to view the page in a CHM file that contains a Captivate demo:

The demo was imported to FrameMaker and the FrameMaker files are live links in RoboHelp to make the CHM. Captivate and FrameMaker files reside on network, and RH project is on local drive. I cannot get rid of the error message by selecting either yes or no, so I can't navigate any further in the CHM file.

Sorry but I'm doubtful any of Colum's solutions will help here.

I seem to recall you have to make a tweak to the code for the Captivate. Can you please post what the HTML looks like for the page?

I think you have to add an ID= somewhere. Perhaps if I see your code I might provide further guidance.

Cheers... Rick

I believe this is what you requested?:

<div style="text-align: center;">
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="Mill_True_Type_Lettering_video_demonstration.swf"
    id="object1" width="337" height="205">
<param name="movie" value="Mill_True_Type_Lettering_video_demonstration.swf"
   />
<param name="quality" value="high"  />
</object>

Thanks Rick, that did solve the problem. The captivate demo runs in the CHM now. I am trying to establish a fairly seamless workflow from Captivate > FrameMaker > RoboHelp. Will I have to add this object id to each .swf in RoboHelp whenever I update the files (my files are live links from FrameMaker)? When I tried just now the object id I added gets "blown away" by the update.

Hello again

Unfortunately you will.

I'm not sure if upgrading to TCS3 or just RoboHelp 9 is an option for you. I believe this is fixed in RoboHelp 9.

You should also double-check and ensure RoboHelp 8 is all patched up with the latest Service Releases. Perhaps that's a fix they included. Can't say for certain.

Cheers... Rick
