Search results not displaying

Hello,

Search results don't display from the output (frameless), even though it says there are results. It does work directly from View Output in RoboHelp, but it's not working in our test environments. I think this post is similar: https://community.adobe.com/t5/robohelp-discussions/search-stopped-working/m-p/13852327. Is there a fix? Thank you!

How are you putting the output on to the test server? Are you using Publish and if so, which option? File Transfer, FTP etc.

Repeat putting the output on the server the same way you did before. If that doesn't help try zipping it and unzipping.

    @Dana26548320ehdw Try this.

On the server delete the whxdata folder. Then publish your project again. It has fixed the issue for me.

Why it went wrong is another matter but hopefully that will fix it.

Thank you for the response! We use SFTP. We also select "Republish All" so I think that whxdata folder should be deleted automatically anyway?

It seems to be fixed now, thankfully! I'm not sure exactly what fixed it. Here's what we did:

    1. I deleted my local project and redownloaded it.
    2. I delete the generated files folder.
    3. I re-generated.
    4. For unrelated reasons, I wasn't able to republish the same way we did before. We zipped the files instead.

    Thank you for the help!

Whilst generating deletes everything in the folder first, publishing cannot do that. It never deletes anything on a server.

When you delete topics and other content from a project, you have to delete such items from the server. it has always been that way.

I have seen this before and right now you can see it on my site at www.grainge.org. The fix before was simply to generate again. Normally I would do that right now but I'm holding off.

I am in direct contact with the engineering team and have emailed with a link to your post. The reason I'm holding off seeing if generating again will fix the issue this time is to give engineering the option to check things before I change them.

I will come back as soon as I have any news. Meantime, I suggest you try generating again. Let us know how that goes.

I'm not sure, but I just noticed a similar problem searching on Peter's site. And the only way to get the site working again is to close the browser tab and reopen (and not search). I'm going to email him separately and perhaps we can figure something out. (I'm thinking some sort of javascript caching issue.)

In the mean time, try clearing your browser cache (or at least the cache for your site) and seeing if that fixes the issue.

This didn't seem to work for me, but thank you for the suggestion!
