Question

Table shading does not fit table border

Hi all,

in one project there is a large number of tables within drop down areas. In the Word output we experience the problem that the table shading often extends above the table. This is also visible in the PDF or print, so it is not a display problem.

Example:

There is nothing specific about the tables in Robohelp, I have tried to alter the settings such as alignment etc. but without success. Evidently it helps sometimes to insert a blank paragraph containing a non-breaking space before the table, but not always.

Is this a know problem, perhaps a Word bug? We used RoboHelp 9 and Word 2003 SP3 allthough the problem also occurred on Word 2010.

Can you recreate this in a new single topic project? If you can, see the Contact page on my site and send me that project.

Peter,

actually trying to recreate this problem helped me a lot - I noticed

that it is evidently related to the Word template that I used for

generating. The problem only occurres in a new project if I use the same

template, thus fixing my template or creating a new one should solve

this. Strange nonetheless because I could not even find out what setting

in Word produces such an effect; it is clearly only the shading which is

sort of misaligned, if I turn it off then the grey zone above the border

is gone too.

Thanks though, problem is probalby solvable.

That's the reason I sometimes suggest recreating a problem in a new project. If it does not occur there, it can help identify the cause.
