Training available for Multiscreen output?

Hello,

For someone with a smattering of css knowledge and basic HTML abilities, the Screen Layout Editor in RH10, is "rather daunting" (to quote a presenter in one of Adobe's own seminars). The default screen layouts, and any free or paid screen layouts I have seen, do not meet our needs. Editing them is difficult. I saw a great class about just this topic, but unfortunately it was in the UK and I am in the US.

Can anyone point me to online or class training about this topic? (We do not need basic beginning RH training.)

Hi Anjaneai,

Thanks for your article post. It is indeed a nice overview of the workflow. However, I need specific information on using the Screen Layout Editor to create the various device layouts with my company's requirements for the design. This is not an easy feat for someone who only knows minimal CSS. I cannot use any of the supplied layouts.

We are planning to get some training soon from Joe Welinske, which I am sure will get us on the right track. Also, I am keeping Neil's information in mind as well.

I'm responding after the fact, so indulge me... I offer a one-day class on using RH 10's Multiscreen_HTML5 features to create mobile versions of RH projects. The class is very new; I won't even have it up on my web site for a few days. But the course is the first of what will be a three part series, all one-day classes, with a basic class on RH10 mobile, an advanced class on RH10 mobile, and a class on CSS from basic concepts to unfamiliar (in many cases) concepts like Div tags, floats, and more. Hello Willam,

Yes, I have come to the same conclusion after doing some research into available RH training. It's just not out there yet. So we contacted Maxwell Hoffman and Joe Welinske after watching an Adobe webinar on the topic, and Joe has offered to train us. This is a very new area but it's one we want to jump into, and we're looking forward to learning.

Yes the editor for HTML5 layouts is nothing like the WebHelp skin editor. It definitely requires detailed CSS work to customize the output. Also uploading an App to Google Play requires a signature because RoboHelp evidently has no option to use an existing key store. The direct output of Robohelp is really only for debugging and testing, we imported the entire project into Eclipse and finalized it there.

We have just uploaded a customer magazine that was generated with RoboHelp to Google Play. It was my first shot at this and I must say the learning curve was steep..
