Hello,
For someone with a smattering of css knowledge and basic HTML abilities, the Screen Layout Editor in RH10, is "rather daunting" (to quote a presenter in one of Adobe's own seminars). The default screen layouts, and any free or paid screen layouts I have seen, do not meet our needs. Editing them is difficult. I saw a great class about just this topic, but unfortunately it was in the UK and I am in the US.
Can anyone point me to online or class training about this topic? (We do not need basic beginning RH training.)
Thanks!

Hi,
Given that no one has responded yet, it seems there is no training available yet specifically for Multiscreen HTML5 editing. But perhaps I may be able to help you. I offer consultancy for Multiscreen HTML5 and I can also help you amending or creating layouts. If you are interested, please contact me at contact wvanweelden eu and we can discuss your requirements.
Greet,
Willam

Hello Willam,
Yes, I have come to the same conclusion after doing some research into available RH training.
It's just not out there yet. So we contacted Maxwell Hoffman and Joe Welinske after watching an Adobe webinar on the topic, and Joe has offered to train us. This is a very new area but it's one we want to jump into, and we're looking forward to learning.
Thank you anyway for your kind offer, and I have enjoyed watching your eSeminars and going to your website too! The more info out there, the better.
Sincerely,
Alexandra Duffy

Yes the editor for HTML5 layouts is nothing like the WebHelp skin editor. It definitely requires detailed CSS work to customize the output. Also uploading an App to Google Play requires a signature because RoboHelp evidently has no option to use an existing key store. The direct output of Robohelp is really only for debugging and testing, we imported the entire project into Eclipse and finalized it there.
We have just uploaded a customer magazine that was generated with RoboHelp to Google Play. It was my first shot at this and I must say the learning curve was steep.. ![]()

Hi Peter,
sure, I dont know if it is OK to post links here but if you search
Google Play for "C-Blatt" or "Comet Computer" then you should find it.
It is called "C-Blatt 23".
This was a test for us to evaluate the workflow and the layouting, so
there still may be minor flaws. E.g. to save file size we did not use
multiple layouts/profiles and instead packed it all into one layout
using media queries to adjust the starting screen for phones and tablets.
Maybe we need a sticky "Show your app" thread? I would like to see other
work as well.

Hello,
I'm responding after the fact, so indulge me... I offer a one-day class on using RH 10's Multiscreen_HTML5 features to create mobile versions of RH projects. The class is very new; I won't even have it up on my web site for a few days. But the course is the first of what will be a three part series, all one-day classes, with a basic class on RH10 mobile, an advanced class on RH10 mobile, and a class on CSS from basic concepts to unfamiliar (in many cases) concepts like Div tags, floats, and more. Feel free to get in touch with me directly at nperlin@nperlin.cnc.net or watch my web site at www.hyperword.com.
Regards,
Neil

Hi Alexandra,
You might get a head's up with this article, not equivalent to training, but yes, you can get glimpse of the workflow using Multi Screen HTML5 --
Thanks,

Hi Anjaneai,
Thanks for your article post. It is indeed a nice overview of the workflow. However, I need specific information on using the Screen Layout Editor to create the various device layouts with my company's requirements for the design. This is not an easy feat for someone who only knows minimal CSS. I cannot use any of the supplied layouts.
We are planning to get some training soon from Joe Welinske, which I am sure will get us on the right track. Also, I am keeping Neil's information in mind as well.

Hi Alexandra,
Using the screen layout editor requires quite a bit of CSS and HTML knowledge. If offer consultancy (though not training yet) on Multiscreen HTML5. I can help you with creating of modifying layouts. You can DM me or contact me using my site (www.wvanweelden.eu) if you would like to know more.

Hello,

out a one-day class on CSS usage in RoboHelp for the
general outputs and for mobile. It'll be up on my

Sorry to have taken so long to look but I found your magazine at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cometcblatt23.app&hl=en_GB
It's OK to post such links when the purpose is to show forum users what can be done, rather then when promoting an income generating product.
Can you please point me to the English version? ![]()
Nice work.

Hi Peter,
being a more national-oriented business at the time, we did not publish an international version.
I suppose that the content itself might not be of such great interest for you anyway, there are some short articles but no in-depth technical stuff. This was more a showcase, and our first experience using Robohelp for mobile output
It would be nice to see some other work and share experiences. For example, I have used the iPhone layout as a basis for an app published for Android. The HTML5 version works well, but when installed there are some minor (but noticable) problems with resoving the correct touch positions. It seems the underlaying scripts are also divice-specific.

The request for the English version was made very much tongue in cheek. However, I cannot help but think that anyone who can produce something like that in English could get work from many locations.
I sent the link to some Adobe contacts as it is the first real app that I have seen and I know someone else has contacted them so hopefully that will start the ball rolling.
