User Authentication in RH 6 Server

New Here ,
May 16, 2007 May 16, 2007
Hello all.

I'm curious about how user authentication works in RH6 Server. Once applied to a RH6 project, will users be required to enter a login/password or is authentication handled on a group policy basis?

Thx.

Hi, hpankin.
By "user" are referring to the end user visitor to the website where the project was published, or authentication of the RoboHelp author who may be part of a user group and wants to publish to the RH Server site?

If you followed the setup steps outlined here
Getting Started Guide
and here
RoboHelp Server 6 Permissions Guide
the authors should be part of the RoboPublish Group. Each author will still need to create a link to the server using the WebHelp Pro or FlashHelp Pro publishing wizard. This is where the auhentication for the authors takes place.

Let me know if this addresses your question. I am not a "real" IT person but I do run RH 6 Server on my web server and the above links are what I used.
Thanx,
john
