I am considering upgrading to RoboHelp Server 7. Does this provide user feedback reports when using FlashHelp?

Hi Steve

I'll be posting this and hoping my fellow Adobe Community Expert John Daigle chimes in with more.

I don't believe any version of RoboHelp or RoboHelp Server offers a "User Feedback" feature. I should add here that my understanding of "User Feedback" is to expect that a link is provided somewhere in a prominent place in the help that allows the user to open a form and provide feedback. Similar to the Microsoft "Was this helpful?" thing we see.

I believe that what you see with RoboHelp server is a report of how many times certain topics were accessed.

Cheers... Rick

Hi Rick

What I'm looking for is a report on users' usage of the help, as you described in your final paragraph. I believe "User Feedback" is the terminology Adobe uses for this. I need to know if this feature of RoboHelp Server works with FlashHelp. The examples on the Adobe site all seem to show Web Help.

Hi again Steve

Well, I believe RoboHelp 6 introduced a new output. FlashHelp Pro. Since WebHelp Pro was the only output type that worked with the RoboHelp Server (AKA RoboEngine), I would assume that FlashHelp Pro now offers the same. So if your output is FlashHelp Pro, then you should be able to see the reporting you are after.

Keep in mind that the report is only going to provide how popular certain topics are. It won't be able to tell you which users are hitting certain topics.

Cheers... Rick
