Question

What is the .ldb file for?

My supervisor ran into a problem when trying to load one of our projects for our website. Here's what she said:

"...when trying to upload new help into our webstorage, I get stopped by the RH file…I’m wondering if it has to do with this little file with the lock icon..." (the .ldb file)

Could that be causing the problem?

Thanx!

Lon

This ldb file is in your \!SSL!\output folder or in the \project_name\ folder?

@Jeff - It's usually a source file. I'd be pretty shocked to find it in the SSL output folder.

That’s what I was thinking – it wasn’t clear from the OP what they were doing, but it sounded like they were uploading generated content to a website…

Hi there

Have you heard of the Cache Project Database? (CPD file)

This file is actually a Microsoft Access Database file. If you have Microsoft Access, you should be able to open this file and examine the contents. As this file is edited by changing different aspects of your project, I believe it sometimes creates this LDB (Lock DataBase) file.

At least, that's my own understanding. Perhaps others will pop in to amplify, refute or offer different information.

Cheers... Rick
