Generating PDF/FlashPaper

As fas as I understood, in order to generate a PDF from my RoboHTML source files, I would need to purchase FlashPaper which replaced the previous utility that is no longer supported.

I work off-site, I'm not on a network, all of my work is saved locally, I am the administrator of my pc.....and yet, I cannot generate a PDF and have no idea how FlashPaper is involved. I have a similar problem in that RoboPDF does not "seem" to be responding.

If this is the first time you have tried using RoboPDF you should look at the link given in the previous post.

Hi,

Peter, nothing seems to happen at all. I can select RoboPDF as a printer but nothing ever comes of it. I am using RoboHTML X5 yet the pdf generation doesn't seem to work from either Word or RoboHelp.

I think Caroline is referring to RoboPDF being the utility that is no longer supported.

If the problem is simply that RoboPDF is not working, then FlashPaper is an alternative that I can tell you more about offline. First though, let's prove RoboPDF is the problem.

Create something in Word, something unrelated to RH. Now go to the File menu and select Print. RoboPDF will be one of your printers. What happens if you select it?

Hi Caroline and welcome to the RH community.
You don't need to purchase Flashpaper in addition to RH to produce PDFs from your source. You don't mentio what version of RH you use but from at least RHX5 - and maybe even RHX4 - you can use the RoboPDF tool to create PDFs. Check out snippet 33 at this link to see if that fixes the problem.
