RSO3 Middle Tier Service will not start anymore

We recently moved our source control database from a Win2k machine to a Win XP 32bit box for security reasons.  We are using SC 3.1 and RH 8.02.  Everything worked for 2 days and now the RSO3 Middle Tier Service wont start.  Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a  timely fashion.

We have tried a repair of the SC install, reinstalled RH 8 which is what the Adobe Help Desk advised.  I think they are stumped.  Infact, they were worthless.  They just wasted our time and money for a contract.  We knew more aobut it than they did.  They told us we needed to have the source control installed on every computer and the database on each computer.

Has anyone else had the Middle Tier service stop working and not launch?  Our install is pretty clean.  The only purpose of this pc is to serve our RoboHelp files.  Maybe we should go back to the Win 2k pc.  it has been working without any problems for 10 years.

I had a problem with the RS03 Server not starting and it finally turned out to be the log in handle had a slight error so it didn't match up exactly with the one used on the SQL Server.  Anyone having this trouble it would be worthwhile to double check your log in strings.

Since there was no response today, we uninstalled RH8 and RSC3.1 and then reinstalled.  Now it is working again.
