Stock Video - Playable only with VLC

Hello everyone,

I bought the following Video: https://stock.adobe.com/de/video/animation-loop-of-a-burnt-forest-releasing-carbon-dioxide-on-black-background-with-alpha-channel/420553625

After the download i can open it in Quicktime, but the Video is blank - even though the file is 380mb big. Importing it to davinci gives me a weird error --> Media Offline. Importing it in media encoder shows a green screen (corrupt file, i guess). Only VLC-Media playser shows the correct video in playback, but that doesnt help me getting the video into davinci.

I guess it is some type of container-codec problem.

Does anybody have an answer? And Yes, i know that screencapture is a possible solution, but i payed 95 Credits for a ten second video and I expect it to work.

Hello @Robin33812633udci, I was able to play this in QuickTime 10.5 with a Mac running Ventura 13.2.1. If possible, updating to a newer version might resolve the issue.

If possible, try the asset on a different computer.

It's the 4K Version.

Did you acquire the 4k video? If you acquired the HD video, it's probably not a file with alpha channel.

This file is for @Contributor1 to check.

It is a simple ProRes File with Alpha Channel in a .mov container (Apple ProRes 4444) Nothing I haven't used in Davinci before.

Its Resolve 18.6 on iOS Monterey, Mac Pro 16" M1 Max 1TB/32GB

Check what codec the file uses. You will need to install that codec to your system. VLC uses high end internal codecs to show a bunch of videos unsopported by the OS.
