Hi,
You used too small aperture f/22 and diffraction came out. For short focal lenght like 24mm f/8-11 should be enough sharp from a few meters to infinity.

Look at the 2nd photo magnified at 400%. See the artifacts around the trees?

Also the 1st photo needs several model releases.

Greetings Anmuht!

When zooming in to 100% view in Lightroom, the details of 1064 were blurry.  I also think the highlights and shadows between the river and rocks in 1064 should be evened out.

In 1062 there were many quality issues from shooting directly into the sun.  There is a blue color cast, strong shadows behind the rock, and a large sun flare.  The highlights where the sun is reflecting on the river are overexposed.  The details are also soft and not in sharp focus on this one.

When assessing your photos, make sure to zoom in on the details.

I know you shot these photos purposefully, but what you may consider artistic may be considered a quality issue when using commercially to a wide audience.

Good luck with future submissions 🙂

ok danke.

In 1064, I would pick different lighting conditions personally.  A slightly cloudy day would lessen the harsh light here.  Shooting towards dawn and dusk will also lessen the harsh light and harsh shadows.

In 1062 I would use a tripod and bracket the scene with multiple exposures, and use exposure blending to even out the highlights and shadows.

With cameras and technology being so good and easy to use these days, the level of quality acceptable in 2019 may not be acceptable today.

I hope your future submissions are accepted 🙂

I would do bracketing, but I doubt that I would blend many pictures together. You will get artefacts that are impossible to even out. But just having an option to try is great.

@ricky336 @Abambo Maybe it's because I exposure-blend so often, but blending around water or having noticeable artefacts has never been an issue for me.

Here is a great example with the parts of opening in the stream blended in from a brighter exposure.  I was actually expecting a rejection for sharpness and exposure when I submitted, but it made it through and has sold.

It's absolutely not the only way, but I find it useful.

Your picture is different. When downloading and putting trying to open it in Photoshop, I get an error, so I cannot look at it as I would like, but noticeable artefacts are a problem. They are not always detected by the moderators, however.

It is a different type of picture. Exposure blending wouldn't work in the OP's situation.

Hello,

I wouldn't shoot multiple exposures and blend them together with moving water (as in 1062) because when blended you will get ghosting!

It is enough to use masking and dodging and burning to even out the exposure.

For this shot 1062, the sun is a problem because it has given lens flare and the sun is just a bit too dominant and bright in the sky. The spectral highlights in the water are not a problem I think!

The children on the snow, you could fix the white balance. Not sure if the children will need a model release, (even though they are unrecognisable, the clothes could be an issue) maybe?!

Exposure has to be corrected just a bit; the corners are a bit dark - light fall-off in the river shot.

I doubt it. It is said that the checking of the photos is done by people.

1064-1920: Das Bild ist unterbelichtet. Die Weißwerte fehlen.

Abambo_0-1674465109054.png
