Beginner Questions on Vector Submissions – Artboard Setup, Types, and Themes

Hi everyone,

I'm completely new to vector illustrations and recently started exploring this side for Adobe Stock submissions.

I have a few beginner questions and would appreciate any guidance:
What types of vector content does Adobe Stock accept?
What artboard size or specifications should I use in Adobe Illustrator when creating vectors for Adobe Stock?
I’m familiar with aspect ratios for raster images like 3:2, 16:9, and 4:3, but not sure what’s appropriate or required for vector artboards.
Is there a recommended resolution or dimension (like 5000x5000 px, A4 size, etc.) for the custom artboard?
Should I focus on square, vertical, or horizontal layout? Any tips on which works best for vectors?

Correct answer Nancy OShea

It varies.  Stock accepts almost any type of artwork, providing it meets their quality & content standards. Consult your User Guide for more details.

Artboards vary based on the type of work you're creating— full-sized product packing or tiny icon sets.  Canvas should be cropped to fit the art inside it.

Unlike pixel-based raster images, math-based vectors are resolution independent, which means they can be scaled up or down without any quality loss.

Submit vectors with the following technical guidelines:

  • AI, EPS and SVG file formats only
  • Recommended artboard minimum: 15MP (megapixels)
  • Maximum artboard resolution: 65MP (megapixels)
  • Maximum file size: 45MB (megabytes)
  • Document Color Mode: RGB
  • Artboard offset: (0,0) upper-left corner

Deeper questions about making vector graphics should be posted in the Adobe Illustrator community, where fellow product users can assist you.

Hope that helps.

Hi @Narendra75 ,

Recommended artboard minimum: 15MP (megapixels) with maximum resolution of 65MP (megapixels)

There is no specific aspect ratio or dimension. You just need to meet the required minimum size and not exceeding the resolution specified. You'll find details to your questions in the above link.

Just in case you miss anything in the above link, you should find them here. Be sure to read all the sub-links for more details on guidelines.

Best wishes

Jacquelin
