Hello,

First and foremost is a white balance issue in both photos. Due to this, it would be an immediate rejection!

For the cow photo, it's the foreground that puts me off. There's just too much of it that's out of focus and it centers the cow horizontaly. You might consider reformatting this to a 16:9 ratio, which would remove a good portion of the extraneous foreground. As @Jill_C suggested, the cow might be a tad out of focus but I think it might be salvagable in Photoshop. Try duplicating the image, then select Filter > Other > High Pass. Adjust the slider until you just begin to see some very faint outlines. Then choose Overlay instead of Normal in the Layers panel.

The first image seems to have a white balance issue - a magenta hue, and the cow, which is your main subject, is not in sharp focus.

The second image has quite a few signs and logos, and would have been rejected for IP violations, unless you had submitted property releases. The technical issues were probably over-exposure in the whites and a bit of chromatic aberration.

Thanks for the swift reply Jill. If the cow isn't in sharp focus I think I need my camera checked!

Cheers for the feedback 🙂
