Drone footage

Community Beginner ,
Sep 20, 2025 Sep 20, 2025

I take videos with my drone and use DaVinci resolve studio to export them. I would like to know which of the following options is most favorable to stock clients.

Color mode:

- D-log M ungraded

- D-log M lightly graded

- HLG

- Normal

FPS:

- 24

- 59.94

- or slow motion 100 / 120 fps?

Export (mp4):

- H.264

- H.265

lastly, I multiply fps by 2000 to set bit/s when exporting.

any additional information would be appreciated.

You might get better answers from the actual people who create videos with stock footage.

Try the Premiere Pro forum. Most of the experts there are also familiar with da Vinci Resolve.

This is what Adobe Stock recommends.

Hope that helps.

Your questions can be answered mostly by checking the documentation. https://helpx.adobe.com/stock/contributor/help/video-requirements.html

colour mode: you need to grade your footage.

Don’t: Submit raw video files or uncorrected logarithmic gamma (log) footage. Footage shot in log should have a simple color grading applied — we recommend a basic Rec 709 LUT.

fps: native fps that gives the best quality, 24 fps is a little poor.

Codec: whatever gives the best quality.

compression: as lit

I don't know all the ansers. I recommend you using AI to ask specific questions like yours, GROK works great giving answers and links.

All common frames are supported, personally I shoot everything at 4k 30fps and render  at 24fps. If I shoot at higher frame rate I added at the end of the video description along with 4k,

also at render at H.264

Thank you Francisco. I used AI, however, I would rather seek advice from human-beings 🙂

Hi Omar! I get your point, already we hear of countless people who have ditch human relationships for AI interactions.

The enthusiasm in replies to the original advice I gave you (from people I bet are closer to my age) reminds me of the need for self awareness, respect and balance.

AI will become another enslaving tool, for those who don't become self aware. But it will also become... it already is, an unbelievable tool that streamlines information, gives you answers and solutions to things you didnt know, and will save you lots of time learning them.

its up to us to learn how to use it and not fall prey to becoming mind numb. robots.

Your question I saw as valid, unlike 80% of the questions I see posted here by people that often

don't even read enough to understand they aren't speaking to Adobe the company...

And if they put just a little bit of effort, digging in Adobe's website which is also using AI tools to find searches, or something like GROK, would give them the answers they seek.

We need to be smart using AI, like with anything else. Think of it like money, putting your money in a savings account that pays you 4% is not a very good idea. In one year you loose most of it to inflation... that doesn't mean that saving money is a bad idea.

This message is clearly for you and everyone who replied to your thread!

have an awesome week everyone!

Francisco, thank you for your time writing this message, defending your opinion. I totally understand your point, I'm not against utilising AI at all, however, seeking advice from persons with experience is safer sometimes, whether based opinion.

Adobe gives guidelines, what's acceptable and what's not, which I read already before coming here. My question was specific to adobe stock clientes' preferences. If I post materials close to what people want, all parties will benefit.

AI is indeed a great tool, I use it daily for my general work, nevertheless, interacting with people is always helpful.

you too have a great week 🙂

AI gives poor answers, and they may even be false.

I trust my toaster more than I trust Chat GPT.  And my toaster has an 80% failure rate. 🙄

My toaster works fine. But it does not give the weather forecast. I wouldn't trust Grok for neither, toasting my bread, nor forecasting the weather.

Thank you, Abambo.

My drone's footage, even if raw/log, its color space is Rec 709. The LUT Dji provides oversaturates colors. I convert color space into Davnci wide gumat, grade lightly and then back to Rec 709.

When I dont feel like grading, I just shoot in Normal mode.
