Generative AI submission guidelines

Hi Everyone,

I am seeing a continuing trend of people asking the same questions about how to properly submit images created with generative AI software.

As a reminder, we have created a learn-and-support page with our submission guidelines HERE. Please review the guidelines before you submit generative AI content. After you have reviewed the submission guidelines, your next assignment is to review the generative AI submission FAQ page HERE

In addition to the same quality standards that apply to all asset types, there are specific requirements you must adhere to when submitting generative AI images.

  • Submit all images as file type "Illustration". Regardless of whether it looks like a photo or not.
  • Click the "Created using generative AI tools" box in the indexing page of the contributor portal prior to submitting the file for review
  • Include "generative AI" in the title of ALL images (in English) in which all or part of the file was created with generative AI software.
    • This includes composites with multiple asset types
  • Include "generative AI" as a single keyword (in English regardless of language you are keywording in)
  • Include "generative" as a single keyword
  • Include "AI" as a single keyword
  • If your generative AI image contains what could be perceived to be a recognizable person in it, you must submit a release. If that person was completely written prompt generated and is not based on a real person in any way, then a PROPERTY release is required. If the person was created with a prompt (either visual or written) that is based on a real person, then a MODEL release is required.

This is not an exhaustive list of our requirements. What I called out specifically here are the most commonly overlooked requirements resulting in image rejection or reminders. Please review the guidelines and FAQ linked above before submitting any generative AI submissions. Do not resubmit files that have been put into the reminder section of the portal after review UNLESS you have clearly identified the issue and were able to correct it.

A HUGE shout out and thank you to the forum Community Experts who have so generously shared their time and expertise in patiently answering the questions here.

Thank you,

Mat Hayward

Please note, that the requirement changed and it's now no more necessary to add all those data. The only required button that needs to be pushed is the Created using generative AI tools button. See here for the updated metadata requirement.

It would be nice if some of these were taken care of automatically when the AI checkbox is activated. Illustration category, keywords, etc. all would be helpful to those of us who forget from time to time, and to Adobe, so there are fewer guidelines and better information to evaluate an image.

Thanks!

I agree that it would be nice. However, it's not the reality we are in, so please be sure to continue to follow all the guidelines.

Thank you,
