Have any one noticed a drop in his sales, too?

Hello,

Since the last days of last year "2024" I have noticed a big drop in my images sales numbers.

I checked some topics here and found responses that it is normal, it is just a period without sales passing on your portfolio, in my case it took a little long,

I guessed that the reason might be that a large number of buyers are taking a rest in the new year holiday or are buying the "new year images" to cover the new year event, especially since images with word 2025 are the most popular images on "Insights" section.

To summarize, my sales in this days are down, I want to know how are you guys doing, have you noticed a drop, too?

I would also like to know if your best selling pictures are New Year's pictures.

Regards!

The market is fickle - it changes rapidly from day to day, year to year. Christmas and New Year is now over. Next big thing is Easter! Maybe prepare for that!

The holidays, of course, but there are events taking place in the US that can also be determining factors, such as severe weather (no doubt affecting travel) and the LA fires are two.

My sales were quite low during the year-end holidays, but have bounced back to a normal level as of this week. This is a completely predictable pattern, as many businesses are either closed down during the holiday period, or many employees take time off to be with their families.

I expected that too, but my sales has incredibly went down, What I used to earn in a day, I now earn in a week.

If the talk is about removing the automatic option for AI images when buying is true,  this will be a huge blow, perhaps this is the reason in the first place for the drop in sales.

There are indeed many bad AI images but not all of them, also not every image that has been flagged as AI is a generated image, some images have been edited for the better to remove distractions

Beyond the normal year-end holiday slow down, the main reason for declining sales is increased competition, particularly for AI images. Adobe Stock Moderators add ~1,000,000 assets to the database every DAY, and 90% of those are AI images. AI images now comprise more than 36% of the total database. With 236 million AI images competing for attention, many on similar topics with many duplicates, it becomes harder and harder for your images to make it to the top of the search results. Search for a few of your images using several of your keywords to see where your images land in the search results.

There are many other big occasions, Eid al-Fitr, Ramadan and Hijri new year are also big occasions, they are famous in the Arab world and the eastern part, But the Arab and Eastern world is not as active in participating in platforms and e-commerce as the Western world, so your assets about Eastern holidays will not receive the same demand from buyers.

That's why it is a good idea to know who your target audience is!

As you said, this is normal. It can also be your assets. Are your assets seasonal or of a specific subject? Do you constantly upload new assets?

My assets are various, I try to cover random commercially attractive topics as much as possible, it seems that I will start to add assets related to occasions and holidays

You need to plan that well in advance and submit over several weeks. Professionals need their assets well in advance. Sometimes they also need last minute assets for customers web sites. Abut advertizing is planned weeeks ahead of the event.
