Image Not Accepted – Quality Issues

Hi there. I'm a new contributer and have had four images rejected on Quality Issues. Wondering what ppl might think the reason is? I've had eight similar images approved so guess it's not a focus/sharpness issue. Would aporceited any feedback. The attached red image is one that has been rejected. The purple image was approved.

Note these are AI generated.

Thanks!

Keep in mind that assets are often purchased for commercial print projects.  The slightest artifacts, no matter how small can adversely effect final print quality.   That's why professional proofers always boost magnification to examine images.

Believe or not, I keep a jewlers loupe in my camera bag.

Have you had more rejections?  Feel free to upload them for feedback if you'd like 🙂

It does take some time to get a feel for what will and won't pass, so don't get too discouraged.

Hi Nancy,

Thanks for reponding. The point is, for me, that I can't see any artifacts on the image that Abambo can see. There's a little noise, which is inafct intentional and I don't think that is enough to reject an image like (but what do I know!)

I've worked in print for the last 20 years and I'd more than happy to use images of this quality. I understand there are criteria to meet, I'm just trying to find out what the quality issue is.

Thanks

I'm seeing issues with soft focus, artifacts and shadows on both subjects.

Open in Photoshop and increase magnfication to 100  - 300%. Examine every quadrant carefully.

Assume that both generative AI assets should have been refused, but on the purple one, the moderator did not see the flaws.

Red has in addition to some artefacts a high noise level.

Thanks Abamnbo. Would you have an opinion on what the flaws are in the illustrations?
