Photos or Illustrations?

Hi everyone,

I’ve recently started creating AI-generated images and am considering uploading them to Adobe Stock. However, I’m a bit confused about whether these images should be categorized under Photos or Illustrations.

Does anyone here have experience with this? What’s the correct category for AI-generated content to ensure it’s accurately represented and meets Adobe’s guidelines?

Thanks in advance for your help!

The replies by @Jill_C and @Abambo are correct. But in addition, when in doubt, I select Illustrations.

The AI guidelines are quite clear. If it looks like it could have been taken with a camera and is a real life subject, it can be uploaded as a Photo. otherwise, it's an Illustration.

Photos: if your assets look as being taken with a camera, use the “photo” category.

Illustrations: Even if the assets look like a picture taken with a camera, as soon as you add some abstract elements, use illustration as a category.

So a toddler with nice hair should be a photo, the same toddler with flowers instead of hair would be an illustration.
