Hello everyone, somewhere I saw comments that Adobe does not support self-promotion. Is that right?
Shouldn't we leave a link in the profile description on social networks?
Adobe has no problem with self-promotion. Sure you can link your public profile.
You can do that. No problem.
If you have access to Portfolio, you can even create an own website with your assets.
Adobe is happy when many people buy your assets.

Yes, that's right. Posting spam or self-promotion in these support community forums is not allowed.
See the Adobe Support Community Guidelines below.

Portfolio will indeed be the easiest way to create that. https://help.myportfolio.com/hc/en-us/articles/360036798993-Sharing-Adobe-Stock-Collections-on-Adobe...

You can promote your Adobe Stock portfolio in your social media channels. The only self-promotion that is forbidden is to buy your own assets from Adobe Stock.

That will get you banned.

I think I should put a link from my portfolio in the profile description on Instagram, LinkedIn or Tik Tok. Just to bring visitors to my portfolio.

Make sure they allow it first. You don't want to get banned for violating their user terms.

But this is a different problem of people posting unrelated links to shaby products here in the fora and confusing users.

@The Tamer and @Abambo,
Self-promotion and spamming are not allowed in the Adobe Support Community. If you post a URL to your YouTube channel for example, moderators have to remove it or report it as spam. This goes for ALL self-promotion, regardless of how shabby or premium it is.
What you do on other sites depends on THEIR policies. Read their guidelines.

if you have a YouTube link to promote a solution to a problem, you can post it, even if it is yours. If the link to the channel is in your signature, you get banned. If the ink is unrelated to the problem, you get banned. If it is not right clear that the link is spam, a moderator may remove it.

It's not the same thing. Solutions to product questions are NOT self-promotion.
Repeated self-promotion will get the user banned from this community.

For example, if someone posted the name of (but not necessarily an actual link to) their own graphics design company as part of their signature in every comment they made in this forum, would that be allowed, or would it be considered self-promotion in the general form of an advertisement? Would there be another reason for posting the name of their own company other than self-promotion on every comment? I mean, on the surface anyway, the guidelines that you linked to seem unambiguous about advertisements, but I may be misreading something.
Thanks.

Read the "Using the Community" guidelines - link at the bottom of this page. They state:
Signatures
Website addresses or links in signatures will be considered spam and a breach of the community guidelines, which could lead to your account being banned.

I still don't believe it would be allowed. And why do it anyway? Most of us here, since you're speaking of this particular forum, are contributors, not buyers.

That is allowed. If you want to show what experience you are posting about here, you are welcome to do so. Many people state in their footer that they are freelancers. This is not spam. No links, no e-mails, no phone numbers, no something else. When you are answering to a message with a link to your website, you have to be on topic. Everything else could be considered as spam. And I may not consider something as spam, what someone else would consider as spam.
If you have a business you want to promote, do it in such a way, that it does not violate the terms.

Yes, a business name is allowed in your signature. But sensitive personal data like emails, URLs, phone numbers or addresses are not allowed. Adobe makes the rules here.
