Both photos are out of focus and the highlights are overexposed.

The elephant image, in addition to being very blurry, has a border around it - looks like you scanned and then didn't crop ...

Dear Jill, Yes, i scanned the photo taken by my grandfather and uploaded. He has a good collection of photos. Any suggestion to retain the quality while scanning thro a mobile ? Thanks for your inputs. Regards,GT

You will need a specialist photo scanner, I should say. Photographing old photos with a mobile isn't going to produce world class commercial photography. But I'm not sure your grandfather's wonderful photos will meet the grade if these are hobby photographs.
